Driving licences must be in English, have an English translation or be supported by an International Driving Licence. Your licence must show the date you passed your test in addition to showing the type of vehicle you can drive. If you have been within the UK for 1 year or more and you are from outside of the EU then you will need to apply for UK driving licence. The minimum age for overseas drivers is 25 years.
Generally we do not require a deposit however, this is based on you having a full and clean driving licence with no points, endorsements or disqualifications and being able to provide satisfactory evidence of your permanent UK address. In the UK, you will be covered either by the manufacturer’s standard warranty breakdown cover or, if that cover has expired, by our own breakdown cover. If you have a breakdown, you must let us know immediately on 01403 241010 – we will contact the relevant breakdown provider and arrange repair of the vehicle.
We will ensure that tyres are in suitable condition when we hand over the vehicle to you. As with your own vehicle, you are responsible for checking tyre pressures and condition regularly, e.g every week. We will pay for any tyres which need replacing due to wear (though not for tyres which have been damaged).
Oil & Water
As with your own vehicle, you are responsible for checking and maintaining the fluid levels (oil, water, brakes, Power Assisted Steering) on a regular basis, i.e. every few days. You will be liable for any damage caused by any omission to check these items.
